The book, “Ending Addiction for Good,” which Cliffside Malibu Founder and CEO Richard Taite and I coauthored, is now available for purchase. I received my promotional copies a few days ago. Holding the book in my hands is an amazing experience.
“Why was writing this book so important to you?” is a question I am often asked. I don’t receive a dime of royalties from the book. 100% of the authors’ proceeds go to charity to provide treatment for addicts in nonprofit treatment centers. I’m happy about the book not in anticipation of financial gain. Rather, I am excited about the book because I know in the recesses of my heart that it provides the tools addicts truly need to recover.
I was recently told that approximately 83% of people who undergo residential treatment for drug addiction or alcoholism will not be sober one year after their release. That is heart-wrenching to me, because I know exactly the kind of suffering these addicts endure. Why do they relapse? I believe it is because most treatment centers do not provide the holistic support both in and post-treatment that addicts need. “Ending Addiction for Good” explains the tools addicts require to recover in greater numbers than we have ever before seen, using the experience of a top-notch treatment facility and the evidence in the scientific and academic literature. The knowledge and technology now exist to give addicts a real chance at a future grounded in health and recovery. I am honored to be one of the people who can share these discoveries with those in need.
I am pleased that “Ending Addiction for Good” is for sale because I want those who suffer to know that there is hope. It is simply unnecessary to live addicted any longer. Help is here. Your life can change for the better starting right now.
